We are looking for a Software Engineer to participate in the software development of instrument automation and medical device applications for serological and molecular-based diagnostic assays and ancillary products. The Software Engineer will utilize innovative systems and information technology “best practices” to further our goals and improve our capabilities across the organization. Software Engineer III (R&D)


As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities span the software development life-cycle, including requirements definition, design, construction, testing and maintenance.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Demonstrable ability to develop complex software products through all phases of the software development life-cycle, employing various models and methods.

  • Involved in development and modification of software.

  • Involved in the creation, modification, and execution of tests, automated or manual as needed.

  • Aid in requirements analysis, traceability and detailed software design

  • May be involved in software configuration, build, and release management.

  • Lead software product technical support for both internal and external customers.

Software Engineer III (R&D)


As a Software Engineer with a background in medical device or other regulated industry software development,you should be detail-oriented and organized, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Additionally, youmust be able to operate independently and exercise good judgement and possess excellent analysis, troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Other qualifications for the Software Engineer include:

  • EXPERIENCED in developing prototype platforms and realizing them as commercial products.

  • EXPERIENCED in C, C++, .NET, XML, JSON, javascript, Ajax, and SQL Programming languages. (Languages may vary from project to project.)

  • EXPERIENCED in software architecture definition and implementation.

  • EXPERIENCED in .NET frameworks, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Microsoft Work-flow Foundation (WF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) required, and MVP Frameworks.

  • EXPERIENCED in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL Server, Web Services, multi-threading, and LINQ.

  • EXPERIENCED in Unix family operating systems a plus.

  • EXPERIENCED in developing IIS, Apache server, TCP/IP, and serial communications applications.

  • EXPERIENCED in software configuration, build, and release management.

  • EXPERIENCED in integrated development environments and software development applications.

  • Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server preferred. Experience with MinGW and Qt a plus. (IDE use may vary from project to project.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field; Master’s degree, preferred

  • 6+ years of software experience, preferred in the medical device space, specifically with medical application and instrumentation automation software solutions
